Art Pieces

John Nash. Over the Top
A painting of trench warfare that made the war drag on for years. Portrays one of the sides being able to advance further into the enemy line and drive them back. This painting seems to be a sign of hope that the armies will eventually win this war, only what side i'm not sure.
Otto Dix. Assult Under Gas
This painting preys on the fears that the people would have had when the Germans started to use gas as a weapon against the Allied Powers. With gas masks on, speaking a harsh foreign language, and advancing towards them through a haze of death, it would have made them seem worse then they really were. This painting easily portrays them as how bad they could appear to the people they approached.
Otto Dix. Skull
World War I caused a lot of death for many nations, directly from the war and indirectly after it. This piece of art shows that death and decay that the war caused.
