U.S. Events

Spanish flu:
During 1918-1919, over 1/5 of the worlds population became infected with the spanish flu. Most deadly to the youger adults to middle aged citizens, it killed around 675000 Americans in one year. The mortality rate was so high, at a death rate of 2.5%, it decreased the lifespan of ten years of the average citizen. The flu struck at random, taking many people with it. No one was ever safe from its grasp.

The Prohibition
This is the only time an Amendment was ever repealed. This made the manufacture, sale, and distrubition of liquor illegal. This is what leads to the 18th Amendment in the 1920s which is later repealed. The Volstead Act is what offically stated the law. Many people sought to put a blame to the troubles of society on one thing but the people rebelled against it.

If Europe didnt put the worlds blame on one nation, then maybe Hitler wouldnt have been able to been able to rise to power and start WWII and massacre millions of people. These two events are also a forshadow for WWII as well.
